Total rip off ! After paying $125 annually for tank rental I decided to go with a company that charges $50 annually. Paid rental for 20 years. Do the math. Called and cancelled 3 months before my rental renewal date to avoid getting charged for another year. They picked up the tank 6 months after i terminated the contract when i was not home - without notice. Never even put a note on the front door knob, no email, no letter. No notification whatsoever. Didn't know that the tank was removed until I went to put dinner in the oven. Mind you they certainly sent an email and a bill to charge me the $159.93 pick up fee after the tank was removed. Who needs this kind of customer service. Btw...a few years back I was told that the rental fee would be waived if i got a smaller tank. Never happened. At one point I was told that my tank was rusty and needed to be replaced and they couldnt fill it until they brought another tank. Then they decided to fill that rusty tank anyway because they couldnt get another one there. Get another company.

Amerigas is a joke! They were to come out and paint my propane tank, made an appointment, and said I had to be here. Nobody showed up or called or texted. They filled my propane tank plus I got billed for it tank rental. Sent in the amount for the first bill and then a second invoice came with both charges. The first check had not been cashed so I called Amerigas to return the overpayment. They said I would have it in 7 to 10 days and it has been over 10 days and I still have not received it so I’ll have to waste my time and call them for the fourth time! When this tank is empty, I am switching companies.

Stay away from this company!!! After 20+ years with the company, they slid in a tank rental fee then refused to waive the fee upon my complaint. You could previously walk into a local office and speak with a member of the community!! Not anymore......how you get some overseas operating line which is very difficult to understand. They will be picking up this tank once I empty it!!

When I bought this home in 2021, the Amerigas tank was on site, so I guess you could say I "inherited" Amerigas.

Almost immediately, I learned that they will not provide service for my heating appliance - all they want to do is sell propane. Useless #1.

I established an account, with the stated expectation that there would NOT be any automatic deliveries. Within 3 months, they made a delivery that I didn't ask for, didn't need and didn't want. There was a rather unpleasant conversation with one of their telephone answering people during which I notified them that any further unsolicited deliveries would be considered a gift. I followed that up in writing, and (SURPRISE) the automatic deliveries stopped. Useless #2

Immediately after the first heating season, I converted to an oil fired system - mostly because I can service it myself.

A few weeks ago, I contacted Amerigas to remove their tank - I am still shocked at how quickly the responded!! BUT.... yesterday, I received an invoice in the amount of $249 - I guess for removing their tank.
I suppose, on one hand, that's a cheap price to be rid of this useless outfit, but I don't intend to pay it. Useless #3

Do yourself a favor - stay as far away from Amerigas as you can.

I was an AmeriGas customer for years both as a business and residential customer. After waiting for 3 weeks for propane delivery they flagged me foe an electrical outlet. So then last year they billed for for $120.00 tank lease, $217.00 maintenance fee they did nothing just looked at tanks, and another 140.00 fee to remove their tanks. No refund for the propane that was in the tanks when removed. AmeriGas propane price $4.90 gallon paid new company $2.85 gallon. This was my residential account business account very similar. I have friends with very similar situations with this company. Do not see much of a future in AmeriGas!!

I asked them if they could give me a appraisal on a tank and they sent someone out to look around, didn't do anything just walked around, next thing I know I get a bill for $100, for what? The guy didn't do anything, now I get another bill for late fee, so I'm being charged that they never even told me in the first place there will be a $100 charge for sending someone out, I'm glad I went with Dibble propane.

My Amerigas service…I terminated 6/4/2022. 201891342 with a credit balance $428.59. After numerous phone calls (6/28/2022, 12/1/2022, 3/31/2023 to pick my tank up), it was finally picked up on 4/7/2023. My Final Bill shows you charged me $121.07 tank rental for 7/1/2022-6/30/23. You should have already had the tank picked up and in your possession…NOT mine. You sent me a check for $191.60. You still owe me a check for $121.07. Also, 201885716 my Final Bill you charged me $99.22 for tank rental. That tank also still had 10% propane left in it for me to be reimbursed. I terminated service also on 6/4/2022. I need these two accounts cleaned up!!!

This company is running a scam No one should do business with them. The service is the worst I have ever experienced with anyone. DO NOT fall for discounts promised They dont exist. You end up getting so angry it is not worth the effort. Avoid them altogether. Just miserable...!!!!

Terrible customer service. I have been a customer since they took over our local dealer. There have been nothing but billing issues, surprise charges and now I called to discontinue service on 2/21/23. I have replaced them and had their tank disconnected. I have sent 4 messages whating to know when they will remove their tank off of my property. Nothing, no replies, nothing!. I warn anyone who may be thinking of having Amerigas as you propane provider to reconsider. Jeff 4/8/23

ABSOLUTELY the worst company to use! Don't do it! You can't even talk directly to company, only call centers who don't speak English well. I have had multiple no shows and they charge and arm & leg! They charged me 199$ for a service call I didn't even request. And there's nothing you can do about it since you can't even talk to the real company. I got so fed up with them I called and said come get your equipment (before they filled) and they showed up the next day and filled my tank, which I wasn't ready for or asked and now I am stuck with a 1700 bill. I would never ever ever use them! Did I say don't use them yet!? Heck no!!!!!! The worst

Quite literally the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. There is absolutely no communication with the customer service representative in India and the delivery driver in America. I’ve called multiple times to cancel deliveries or limit how much they actually deliver. At no time is that message ever passed on to the driver. I have also called multiple times to cancel my convenient pay, but it is never done and they continue to charge me every month for propane I haven’t even received yet.

This is absolutely the most dishonest bunch of smam artists you will ever meet. Do not do business with this company you will regret it. They are the absolute worst there is. They will scam you for sure.

Amerigas billed for two deliveries totalling 485 gallons in a 24 hour period to a 325 gallon tank. They say they are investigating. Been months and they will not respond. Don't use amerigas. You will regret using them.

I was charged $4.99 per gallon. Double the price other companies were charging. So I canceled and switched to another company. It took 3 phone calls and over a month for them to cancel my account and pickup the tank. Then I got a cancel fee and pickup fee for another $317.98. The tank they picked up had more than quarter tank still in it. They said it was empty so I wouldn't be receiving any credit. I would NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR PROPANE NEEDS!!!!!! Any other company out there will be at least 50% less than what they charge. I wish I knew this before using them.

Problems on the AmeriGas website caused a duplication of a $1200 payment. We have been put on terminal hold or just cut off five (5) different times. Four days ago, they said they would cancel the duplicate payment but did not and now it has been taken out of our bank account. They cannot/will not give me a definitive day when I will get the money back into my account. They twice put us on 45 minute holds and never came back on line. Three (3) times they said they would be right back on line and just cut us off.
April 11, 2023 update: After three more attempts to get the duplicate payment refunded to no avail, we reported the charge to our bank as fraudulent as we need to get the $1206 back. Next call is to the California Department of Justice.
